The LEDi and CESAER are delighted to host the 13th Annual Conference of the French Association of Environmental and Resource Economists. The conference will take place at the Université Bourgogne Europe on September 10–11, 2026.
The aim of FAERE annual conferences is to foster the production and dissemination of research in environmental economics. Contributions are welcome from both theoretical and applied perspectives, covering topics that include – but are not limited to – food systems, maritime issues, energy, transportation, climate, and biodiversity.
Keynote Speaker
Rainald Borck (Postdam University) will present his works on the topic "Local and global pollution : an urban economic view".
Professor Rainald Borck studied economics at the Technical University of Berlin, George Mason University, Fairfax, USA, and Humboldt University Berlin, where he received his doctorate and habilitation. From 2002 to 2006, Rainald Borck was a research fellow at DIW Berlin. In 2006, he represented the Chair of Finance at Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich until he was appointed Chair of Economics with a focus on economic policy at the University of Passau in 2008. At the same time, he became a research professor at DIW Berlin.
Since 2012, he has been Chair of Public Sector, Finance and Social Policy at the University of Potsdam. His research interests include urban and regional economics, finance, environmental economics, and political economy. Rainald Borck is a research fellow at CESifo and at DIW Berlin. He is a member of the Verein für Socialpolitik, the Committee for Social Policy, the Committee for Regional Theory and Policy, and the Committee for Financial Studies.

When submitting your paper proposal, you will be able to indicate whether your topic relates to issues concerning the Mediterranean region or to energy-related questions, so that it may be considered for the sessions organized in partnership with MEDAERE and FAEE.
FAERE Young economist best paper award
At the general meeting of the 13th annual conference, the winner of the FAERE Young Economist Award for the best paper presented at the conference will be announced.

Submission Timeline
We invite you to submit papers, whether theoretical or empirical, in all areas of environmental and natural resource economics. Full papers must be uploaded via the submission page on the conference website. The submission deadline is April 17th 2026, and acceptance notifications, following the selection process, will be sent by mid-May 2026.
